In an attempt to increase locoregional drug exposure in pelvic tumors the abdominal aorta and vena cava were cannulated just above the bifurcation and perfused at a low flow rate (100 mlmin.) for 60 min. using a heart lung machine (HLM). In order to keep the perfused volume minimal Esmarch bandages were placed around both roots of the limbs.
